Childhood friends, been like this ever since Sr. High.
Graduated, went our separate ways.
I took my path, you took yours
I the west coast, you the east.

And on and on I went, never slowing down.
I can't find what I'm looking for, and perhaps I never will

Sailed around the world, not sure what I'm searching for.
Perhaps, looking for something in the everyday nothing.

Another few years, fly right by,
'Fore I know it running for president.
Been to NASA, been to space.
Nothing special there... Nothing special here.

Fifteen years pass on by, in the blink of an eye.
Nobel peace prize was nothing to me.
Sitting in my death bed old age consumes me.
After all this time, I have finally realized,
What I've been looking for.
I must say, if I have but one regret,
It's not being with you.
